I am a medical doctor with 10 years psychiatric experience in Australia. Currently I am a diploma candidate at the International School of Analytical Psychology, training to be a Jungian psychoanalyst. I am at the second and final stage of the training, which involves seeing clients under the supervision of senior analysts. The fee charged by the diploma candidate is half of the usual consultations with a senior psychoanalyst.
Psychoanalysis is a deep inner work, to be who we are, deeply rooted and hence better contribute and relate to others. The process involves integrating different parts of us including those that are conflicting. This incorporates:
Exploration of the unknown parts of us, including potential and hidden tendency/talents:
Reflection on strong emotions, life events, and pattern of relating
Personal development and understanding
Space for inner reflection
Exploration of the meaning of certain life experiences, emotions and thoughts
Dealing and making sense of trauma and emotional distress, for examples depression, anxiety, various life crisis, adjustment to new life circumstances or stages.
Coming from previous medical and psychiatric background, I am also informed by other school of thoughts such as post-Freudian developmental psychology, and cognitive & behavioral approach. Being a yoga practitioner, I endeavor to incorporate the principle of mindfulness.
